The Emerging Generation

A primary focus of Vintage Church is to reach the diverse and emerging generation of college-aged people in Lawrence.

This generation has been described as being very spiritual and open to God, yet very anti-church. Almost 6 out of 10 of them say they want to be close to God, and nearly 4 out of 10 say they are anxious to be active participants in church. Gallup says that one in four of these people would attend church this weekend if they were invited. We believe that there is no greater place to reach this generation than on the college campus at the University of Kansas, where the hearts and minds of the leadership of tomorrow are being shaped and molded.

Our College focus at Vintage is three-fold. First and foremost, our aim is to see college-aged people become committed followers of Jesus Christ. We feel this is best achieved where biblical teaching is highly valued and genuine community is experienced. Second, our goal is to see college students grow closer to one another in community together, and to simply live life together. Third, our hope is for students to connect to Vintage Church to experience the fullness of community, discipleship and service in our Church.
